The revamped Adelaide Oval is one of the country’s hottest sporting destinations, with football and cricket seasons keeping the stadium busy, year-round. It’s also the home ground for the Adelaide Crows, Port Adelaide Power, Adelaide Strikers, Adelaide Redbacks and the Adelaide Scorpions.

Given how many teams use the stadium, it wasn’t an easy task trying to deliver a high-end café facility, information counter, office and point of sale desks at the southern entrance. Sarah needed to provide an accurate plan, to ensure the completion date coincided with the changeover from the football to cricket season. Work also needed to be completed to a strict budget and to ensure the oval remained functional at all times for events, tourism and conferences.

Sarah successfully completed the work towards the end of the football season and prior to the inaugural day-night test match in December. While on-site, Sarah maintained a high level of communication with the Stadium Management Authority (SMA), to ensure all spaces remained safe for the general public at all times.

Design Challenges and Creative Solutions
