We love our industry and know you will too – that’s why we have created a number of pathways for those looking to build a career in construction

The Sarah Grant is awarded annually to high-performing university students in their penultimate year, enrolled in Construction Management or Engineering disciplines at the University of South Australia. It includes both paid placement with us and a financial grant, providing recipients with a pathway into our Graduate program.

Our Graduate program is an annual program that allows those with formal qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, and related disciplines with an opportunity to gain exposure across the core functions within our business, including project coordination, contract administration, estimating, site supervision and QHSE. We also work closely with our Graduates to ensure that they experience a smooth transition into full-time work, with an emphasis on building self-awareness, resilience, and emotional intelligence.

Our Trainee Site Supervisor program aims to provide an opportunity for people with trade backgrounds to enter construction management as Site Supervisors. This program runs for 18 months and offers technical and leadership training for aspiring Site Managers. Trainee Site Supervisors are placed on projects with mentors to support and guide them on site whilst being provided technical training across the lifecycle of a construction project.

Our Trainee Safety Officer program was introduced as a result of the overwhelming interest in one of our most important functions. Safety lies at the heart of everything we do, and we wanted to offer a structured pathway for like-minded individuals who are seeking to build a career in Safety. Over 12 months, we focus on building safety leadership skills with a blend of technical, behavioural and legal training, coupled with on-site mentoring and experience to build the next generation of Safety Officers at Sarah.
