Prince Alfred College, Senior Library Refurbishment and Extension

Following the successful completion of the new Boarding House and Footbridge, Prince Alfred College engaged Sarah Constructions for the $1.5M extension and refurbishment of their senior library. The objective of the refurbishment was to provide a flexible and adaptable space that could easily be rearranged.

The extension included extending the existing floor slab on top of an existing building, which was to remain operational throughout construction. All works were carefully managed to ensure the continued operation of the cafeteria and kitchen below. The curved façade, designed by Grieve Gillett Andersen, integrates with the existing build below and the new external staircase provides direct access to the new study spaces.

Doubling the size of the library, the development has brought a light-filled and engaging learning environment to Prince Alfred College. For Sarah Constructions, this project demonstrates the power of our solutions focus and proactive issue identification to deliver client value.
