Construction officially underway for new $135M Adelaide Aquatic Centre
Construction is progressing at the site of the new Adelaide Aquatic Centre, marking a significant milestone in the development of the state-of-the-art facility.
Excavators are currently in operation, removing over 22,000 cubic metres of soil to prepare the groundwork for the $135 million project.
“South Australia is building – and it’s exciting to see work underway on this significant piece of community infrastructure, which will benefit all South Australians,” Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Tom Koutsantonis, says.

Mawson Lakes School $6m upgrade to give more classroom options
The first stage of a $6m redevelopment of Mawson Lakes School will improve the teaching space for junior primary students.
Sliding glass doors will allow teachers to compartmentalise what have been large open spaces accommodating up to 80 students from three classes.
“So you’ll be able to close off your classroom but you can also have the doors open for the highly collaborative activities that the junior primaries do together,” principal David Cowles said...

Morialta Secondary College and Aldinga Payinthi College to benefit from $11.75m bus project
Students will be able to travel more easily to class after the state government announced an increase in school bus services – commencing at the start of Term 1 in Adelaide’s eastern and southern suburbs.
Among students benefiting from the new school buses, announced by the state government on Wednesday and to be introduced on January 29, will be students from the new Morialta Secondary College and Aldinga Payinthi College.
In total 16 new Scania hybrid buses, at a cost of $11.75m will be purchased and progressively rolled out over the next three years.

A $60m luxury apartment development at Norwood has been given the green light by the state’s planning authority.
The six-storey project, known as The Osmond, will be built on the site of the Hungarian Club on Osmond Tce. It features 23 apartments including two penthouses, and will include a redevelopment of the club’s premises – including restaurant and function space – on the ground level.
Developer Sarah Constructions expects building works to commence in February, and for the project to be completed by the end of 2025.
