In partnership with the City of Tea Tree Gully, Sarah Constructions delivered Stage 1 of a critical redevelopment of the Tilley Reserve Recreational Club – a project designed to support increasing year-round participation in community sport.
Located in the leafy northeastern suburb of Surrey Downs, the $5.7 million redevelopment provides a modern, flexible clubroom facility for the Tilley Soccer Club and associated community groups. The new facility includes unisex change rooms, umpire and medical rooms, a gymnasium, a state-of-the-art function area with a bar, undercover spectator viewing, and a range of additional amenities.
Delivered with full access maintained to the surrounding oval, carpark, and community facilities, the project was completed on program with zero disruption to ongoing activities. Early and collaborative planning ensured construction activity was sequenced with minimal disruption, and the overall program was delivered on schedule.
As patrons and visitors arrive at the reserve, they are welcomed by the striking new façade — a proud and functional space now enjoyed by the whole community.
Value Management and Cost Efficiencies
To assist with budget management, Sarah Constructions undertook a value management review in collaboration with the consultant team. The outcome included design adjustments and product substitutions — such as light fittings, sanitaryware, and kitchen equipment — achieving considerable cost savings without compromising the architectural or functional intent.
Expanded Scope
Partway through delivery, Sarah Constructions was engaged to manage an additional retaining wall package critical to the City’s capital works program. Despite tight timelines, the team designed, coordinated, and delivered this additional scope concurrently with the main build, further demonstrating our flexible and solutions-focused approach.
Sustainability and Long-Term Impact
The new facility achieved a Green Star rating, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability through efficient design and environmentally conscious construction practices.
Sarah’s timely, open and transparent communication approach increased trust, and provided certainty that the team would go over and above to deliver a high-quality finish.
