Modular magic delivered at Glenelg Primary School

Glenelg Primary School is a much-loved part of the local bay side community, and home to 600+ staff and students across grades R-6 and is located on the intersection of two of Adelaide’s busiest arterial thoroughfares, Brighton and Diagonal Roads.

Sarah Constructions were proud to the be chosen builder for the school’s latest major upgrade.

To provide state-of-the-art accessible learning and play facilities, the upgrade includes:
• Construction of two new modular buildings which provides general learning areas, serviced learning areas, and outdoor teaching spaces
• Construction of a new modular building providing new administration spaces, a service learning area, support spaces and outdoor learning spaces
• Provision of a new lift to service an existing two-storey building,
• Storage areas, and
• Deconstruction of aged relocatable classrooms.

After award, Sarah’s scope was extended to include extensive landscape and paving upgrades, and additional refurbishment works to the library works and teaching staff area.
Sarah leveraged the expertise of its modular building division to construct the three new buildings in 44 individual components able to be effectively and safely transported through the busy arterial suburban roads.

To minimise disruption to the operational school community, Sarah’s team developed a 6-stage construction methodology that allowed learning to continue as normal.

Excited students and staff moved into the new facilities at the commencement of Term 1 2024.
