Complex Aquarium Design. To ensure the 120+ aquariums for fish, lizards and invertebrates were fit for purpose, Sarah facilitated user workshops to ensure a professionally-installed aquatic system and to provide a future proofed, long-term solution.
Stakeholder and User Group Coordination. The project included input from two architects, one for external design, and another for internal fit-out, alongside client user group requirements. Sarah implemented regular and clear communication channels to ensure a collaborative build and cohesive end result.
Rocky and Sloping Site. Sarah developed a detailed methodology with comprehensive site planning to manage the challenging site conditions, converting the site into a useable space.

Improved Research Opportunities. The University is thrilled with the improved functionality, capability and capacity the facility enables for their studies; all within a new and modern building.
Automated Environmental Conditions. the technological integration of the new site allows heating, cooling and lighting to be automatically managed throughout the day, with the added ability of remote monitoring.
Usability and Functionality. The University valued and appreciated Sarah’s relationship with the facility user group. Through direct consultation and connection, Sarah was able to manage expectations and budget whilst simultaneously delivering maximum functionality and usability.

Value Management. Sarah’s specialist design knowledge was leveraged to source cost-effective alternatives and assess the design to remove any non-critical elements. This was especially valuable to the University due to budget pressures caused by COVID-19.
Procurement Flexibility to Avoid Delays. At the time of the project, COVID-19 was causing significant manufacturing and shipping delays. Sarah proactively reviewed procurement and sourced local alternatives for design elements to mitigate time delay risks.
Services Coordination. Due to the complex design of services for the building, regular specific coordination meetings were held with key stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure the end result directly correlated to the brief and customer needs. The integration of these specific services was of utmost importance, as such, Sarah worked closely to ensure that this was understood by all parties and would meet the objectives prior to fit off.
